Get the Best Results from Your Wax

How to Get the Perfect Wax!

Swimsuit season has arrived is in full swing and it is the peak season for waxing. To prepare for your wax and to care for your skin after your wax, it is important to follow a few body waxing tips for the best results.

Hair Growth:

It is important that your hair is grown out long enough for the waxing to be effective and for you to receive the results that you want. Hair needs to be at least one-eighth to one-quarter of an inch in length before waxing. Also, do not shave Avoid shaving between waxes. If you do, it is likely that your hair will not be long enough at your next wax appointment. Also, if you shave in some areas and not in others, then the hair growth will be uneven. Shaving also increases your risk of getting ingrown hairs.

Exfoliation is a great way to help prevent ingrown hairs after waxing. Exfoliate the areas to be waxed daily up until two days prior to your waxing appointment. Also, postpone exfoliating after your wax for two to three days.

For the smoothest results, moisturize your skin daily. There are moisturizing serums on the market that have also been known to slow down hair growth. Hydrate by drinking water as well during the day to keep your skin soft and moisturized from the inside out.

Sun Protection:

Apply sunscreen daily if you will be out in the sun for more than fifteen minutes. Sunscreen will not only protect your skin from sun damage, sunburns and dark spots, it will also keep your skin smooth and soft. The sun dries out your skin which can cause premature discoloration and wrinkles. Protecting the areas that you wax with sunscreen is also important since these areas can be extra sensitive after waxing.
